I'll be shooting this today as well. Very small, very light, laser sights, .45 caliber.
Initial Reactions;
1. like, really LOUD!!!!
2. not terribly accurate...I am sure the gun if fine, I am the one that sucks
3. significant recoil, it lets you know you are pulling the trigger.
4. perfect conceal weapon with considerable stopping power.
5. Laser sites difficult to use at first.
6. Stress reliever.

Kimber makes a downright breathtaking product, but the above should be considered for carry for the following reasons:
1.) Real-world 'stopping power' is largely about shot placement and shot follow-up. Training for accurate shot placement (i.e., 'center mass'), and doing so with a round that allows for a rapid follow-up shot (i.e., 'double-tapping')—something the .45 isn't known for, especially in a sub-compact—is what is key.
2.) The Springfield's double-stack magazine allows for two more rounds—25% more than the Kimber (assuming you would carry either with one in the chamber in addition to a full mag).
3.) In the heat of the real-world self-defense moment, the last thing you want to have to be messing with is a single-action firearm.
4.) Laser sights are gimmicky at best. Learn to rapidly double-tap center mass with Tritium sights.
5.) Whatever you go with, consider using Glaser rounds or some other such prefragmented round.

The kimber has some sort of funky after market sights on it..."night sights" I think is what they are called.
I can't imagine what horrific damage this weapon would do to a human.
I won't be purchasing rounds in the near future. A case of .45 rounds came with the gun...( I think that is 1000 rounds??)
I didn't realize you had already 'pulled the trigger' on the purchase. God bless you, your new toy, and the family of any fool who finds themselves on the other end of that Kimber.
FWIW, Glasers might still be a worthwhile investigation for safety's sake. The freebie's are fine for the range, tho'.
